Is it just me, or is December the time of year that we start thinking about our eating habits and our weight? It definitely seems like the time for me to start thinking about it again after the past 10 months of giving it little thought. 🤦♀️.
December is here and here I go again, trying to get a solid handle on my weight issues.
Why is it that I can follow a “diet” <- yes, I’m using the word “diet”. Diet does not have to have a negative connotation to it. Why is it that I can follow a “healthy” diet, lose weight and feel good then get to a point where I just feel that I’ve done good enough and I can eat crappy (sugary, carb filled, fatty fried) foods again?
I can go from eating well which leads to:
- Feeling well
- Being active
- Sleeping well
- Having a positive attitude
To eating crappy with leads to:
- Feeling crappy
- Having a bloated stomach
- Achy joints
- Puffy feet and hands
- Acne (Yes, acne)
- Having a negative/judgmental attitude
Why does it take so long to start fresh? And how many times must I start over before it sticks again?
I believe it takes so long to restart because I always plan to start tomorrow, Monday, or after the holidays. I may actually start on that planned morning but by lunchtime I have decided to eat the candy that is leftover from a previous uncontrolled shopping excursion, and so I give up for that day and “plan” yet again to start – yep, you guessed it – TOMORROW.
Q: How long before I see measurable progress?
A: 2-3 days! Heck, I usually see some change after the first day.
That is, once I get through the first day! 🤦♀️
