Last June, over a month before a wedding that I was asked to read at, I started walking every day and eating a whole foods diet in an attempt (yet again) to lose weight.
By the wedding date I had lost 9 pounds which is pretty average (approximately 2lbs/week).
I found a dress, (WARNING: Too Much Information ahead 👉🏼) a spandex body shaper, control top undies and to be sure I had all of my bases (flab) firmed and under control, I also wore spandex capris made for firming! Talk about being uncomfortable! As always, I just decided to smile on the outside while berating myself on the inside for having failed at weight loss again! Why hadn’t I just started sooner??? Why is it so hard to lose weight when I’m starving myself and exercising???
What a difference! (see photo)
In the past few months, I have lost 3x’s the weight and I’ve not been hungry or started exercising yet!!!
I am ever so grateful for this Optimal Health Program! Coaching others has been a blessing I never would have imagined could come from losing weight! It has made all of my past weight loss experiences worth it.
I am a COPE Certified Health Coach and I am so excited to help you reach for your health and weight loss goals! I can honestly say, “I’ve been there and tried that!”
Weight issues can be a very difficult and private struggle. While I share many photos of food and progress I also want to “keep it real”, even though this is embarrassing. It might seem odd to some but if you know what I’m talking about, you “know” what I’m talking about!
I haven’t been able to comfortably or easily cross my legs (due to fat thighs) for quite some time. In the past few years I’ve had to swing one leg over and then pull it the rest of the way using the pant leg.
Not anymore! I was thrilled to find, besides my boots fitting better, I can now cross my legs comfortably with no tugging on the pant leg!
Please ignore the muddy floor mats, winter has been long. 😊
Note: Post originally written in March. Just didn’t publish it here until now. Some weight subjects are just more embarrassing to admit.
Today, I didn’t buy the pants I liked because they didn’t have my size…they were all too big!!! Then I found the jean skirts and decided I feel comfortable enough (at this new size) to wear one now. You guys!!!! I purchase a single digit size!!! I’m not sure when I was last this size…maybe in high school. Pictured are the jeans I wore when I started my journey (January 30) and the size skirt that now fits. It zips comfortably but I might not wear it in public for a week or so just to make sure it fits well. What’s a week compared to where I started just 3 months ago.
In the interest of living this journey out loud…Yes, I made choices over a weekend, that impacted my weight (+2.9 lbs). Did I panic and quit? Nope! In the past I would have. I got back to the choices I know work and expecting it to take 2 weeks to lose those pounds (past thinking) it only took a few days and by the end of this week I’ve said goodbye to an extra few!
