We all make daily choices, some easy some not so easy. In this blog we hope to help fuel those daily choices with content that is relatable, positive, and even humorous sometimes. Yes, we have made great strides in weight loss and health and are happy to help anyone who reaches out, but all in all, we hope to just be a light in your day.
There are just some foods (or beverages) that evoke pleasant feelings, emotions or memories.
For me, iced coffee is one of those foods. It’s funny, but not all iced coffees give me a happy/giddy feeling. I hadn’t realized that…now I want to figure out what is in some of my favorite coffeehouse coffees that makes me feel happy/giddy. Hmmmm…
Today’s “What to Write…”
Write about a food that evokes feelings of happiness, not comfort (comfort foods are a whole other subject), and why?
Gratitude: Some find it easy to be grateful for the things and people in their lives; others find it hard to see past the negative things or people in their lives. Yet others may not even think about it.
I hope that you can take a few minutes to journal about the 4 things you are grateful for in this moment.
Do you have a journal or notebook ready? My hope is that if we answer these daily prompts in one journal (or notebook) that one day, in the future, we will enjoy going back and reading what we have written. Maybe it will provide insight or even humor and we will be happy that we took a few minutes each day to answer these prompts.
Here is the “What to Write…” prompt for today: Write about your name. Where did it come from? What does it mean?
Have you ever purchased a journal or diary in preparing to start recording your daily life events, gratitude, musings or even missives that will never be sent?
I tend to be one of those people who collects journals (and planners – but that is a whole other subject) with the intent to start recording the events of the day and my thoughts, at the end of each day. Do you know how many journals I have filled to “full” in the past 5 years? Zero! That is correct, I have purchased on average, no less than 3 journals per year and each one sits empty on the shelf. An unfulfilled promise, to my future self, that I will record today for reading as history in the future.
Since starting my health journey I have been living “out loud” on social media. I have, surprisingly, come to enjoy interacting with many people (even those I didn’t believe knew me at all). We have started to engage more and lately I have felt that I am not really contributing much other than “sharing” a positive quote, a beautiful photo, or a recipe. Not that positivity and/or food is bad but, I want to contribute something that our future selves might appreciate; so I am going to start each day (or sometime during the day) with a “What to write…” prompt post.
The “What to write…” (for lack of a better name at the moment) post will be some type of prompt to help each of us to journal, if only for a few minutes. This may not be a way to make an earth shattering difference in someone’s day but hopefully it will help them now or in the future to know that they/you are important and that they/you matter. Maybe it will help some to let go of things that they have been holding onto for far too long. Maybe it will help to relieve stress or to bring laughter to a day that has been stressful.
I wish that I had started this at the beginning of the quarantine, but wishes are not going to get this project started and truthfully, I have to trust that it just wasn’t the right time.
Whether now is the right time or not, we shall see. I hope that you will pick up one of your unused journals or an old notebook if you have one, anything that you can write in/on will do the trick. It is just a matter of taking the time to do it.
